Low self esteem often starts in childhood. It can be the result of hearing unkind things said to you by family, teachers, people in authority or people you admired. In therapy, we will seek to identify the root cause of impaired self esteem and work toward establishing new patterns of thinking. From positive affirmations to seeking insights from others on who you are now, we can create an action plan for improved self esteem. Often recommended are trying new activities and experiences that you may have felt incapable or unworthy. The goal in therapy is to prove your abilities and worth to the person to whom it matters most – You!
